Last night I made the BEST spicy potato wedges, and they were super easy and yummy.

Peel and cut potatoes (1 or 2, your choice) into wedges. Wash them, then pat them dry. this takes off the extra starch. Put in a bowl, drizzle with 1-2 teaspoons of olive oil. Add: salt, pepper, and Cayenne pepper to your liking. I don't have Cayenne pepper and I find it REALLY WEAK so I used loads and loads of red chili powder. I felt this was not enough (it only really effects the front of your mouth, sigh) so I'm going to have to try something different next time. I also added some garlic, but not much. Then toss the bowl so that the wedges are covered in the seasoning. Make sure they really are otherwise you'll find that one side of your wedges have flavour, and the others are so bland, oy.

Put greaseproof/baking paper on a tray, oil it lightly, and then set out your wedges. Try to make sure that they're not touching each other. Cook for 15 minutes at Gas Mark 9/400`C/752`F, turning the wedges over half way. They will be slightly crispy and browning a little. Serve hot, with dip of your choice. (Salsa works well.)

So. The next few days will be spent reading like a fiend. I have a lot to do apparently. Aie. Semester two starts next week and I'll have to get back to working in the library all day. On the one hand: tiring. On the other hand: needs doing. All of my classes are in the afternoon, though, so I'm going to have to find self-discipline of some sort. TOO HARD.

Eventually I need to get into a graduate training programme so that I can, you know, have a paying job post-graduation. Speaking of, I got confirmation of my reservation to graduation today. Aie.

I may try that tattie wedges idea. I'm not a fan of spicy but I'll just loose the stronger pepper, maybe add some paprika. IDK. But my food situation is desperate (yes, I ate rice last night and today at lunch!) so I'll endeavor to pick up something dip like and make it tomorrow for my ER fest.

& self discipline, woe! I've got two late starts and three 9am's in a row. It's still an issues THREE weeks later. I wish you luck!

D'you know what also works great? Cumin. Ground obviously. Just add enough oil or else it'll start tasting like sawdust.
