Other reasons why I am a moron include: letting The Mother and The Sister wrap presents in my room; writing fic in an eljay post, realising that it hasn't saved, and no longer giving a damn; not having bus fare to go to B. tomorrow.

I forgot to mention these things earlier. Last week, when I missed my connect to N. and was waiting on the next train, I was sat on the platform, on my suitcase, and there was a little old lady who ultimately went and sat on the next platform because the train wasn't going to arrive for ages, and there were no benches on our platform. ANYWAY. I showed her our platform (it was hidden) and she was grateful. I shared a packet of Skittles with her.

TODAY I was sat in the part of the bus where there are fold-down seats, and this old lady got on the bus and tried to sit down next to me, so I held down the seat. Damn if she didn't talk to me all the way into P. She even walked into the shopping centre with me a little way. She owns two acres of land, a horse, a donkey, and a sheep (she did have two sheep but one had asthma, and the other was a bully). She supports the Conservative party, she believes that credit cards are going to get people into trouble, and she works at a local Manor house during their open season. She was very pleasant.

But seriously: this happens to me all the time. I'm a magnet for these women. There's one wonderful woman in D. who gives me a 50 pence piece at Christmas; another who asks me if I've met any 'nice sailor lads' in Soton. ("You got a boyfriend, luvvie? No? Nice girl like you. Have the fellas round the block!" She makes me laugh so much. She's delightful.)
