{ you're the reason for therapy. }
Dec. 1st, 2007 11:16 pmI need to find somewhere else to work. I find that after a while, if you're only seeing the same place over and over again, it's more than a tad depressing. So, yeah, maybe I'll head back to the Law Department. Or maybe, if I get work done early enough, I'll go to town and just walk around the city. I think going to class on Monday is going to help a lot because I'll be around different people, and I'll be absorbing information. I did all my reading for Monday's class on Friday, so I'm ready for it. I even did the Browning reading for last week's lecture. So. Yeah, productivity.

Today I wrote the dissertation proposal. Tomorrow I'm doing research for the 19thC. essay. That, at least, can be done in front of a computer. So some of you will more than likely get spammy/procrastinatory emails.

I ask Amazon to send me things separately, but they still send them together. I don't know what that is. Anyway, I came home today (1930! Aie) to find that they'd finally sent me my copy of Metamorphoses and The Complete Brothers Grimm Fairy Tales. The latter text is gorgeous. It's hardback, red faux-leather, with gold embossing. And for some reason that I can't quite grasp, the pages seem to be faux-gold leaf? Whatever, it's an insanely awesome book and I want to read it now. Except, haha, I have loads of other things to do, and even if I didn't, I still have the Ramayana, Bhagavad Gita and Mahabharata to read (haha, not to mention Joy Luck Club and Watch Me Disappear, which I'd all but forgotten, seriously). All of which are insanely huge books. I'm a little upset though because next semester I'll have to read real books for class (not necessarily a bad thing) which means I don't think I'm going to get through most of these for ages. Woeface. Did I mention I miss the commute? Because, yes. However, am considering using the Grimm collection as bedtime reading. If I can sort my rhythms out (not a huge fan of reading in bed).

Did I mention that The Mother called? Well, she did, just to keep me up to speed on family goings-on. I missed my cousin's engagement thing in Leicester last weekend. The Mother tells me that my other cousin (engaged!cousin's sister) introduced the family to her boyfriend which means, in all likelihood, a third wedding. Apocalypticon is relevant here.

I wish I had non-school things to talk about. I watched CSI: NY last night before I went to sleep and was appropriately impressed by the whole thing. It was wonderful in a cheesy way. I still haven't seen anything else, but I'm told that Saving Grace is back this Monday which is super, super, super.

So, recently, I've been posting entries and then logging off. I'll get to my flist eventually, I swear. For example, I need to collect addresses for the postcard-swap that I'll sort out post-Christmas. (I don't do Christmas cards, so you're just going to have to deal with that tragedy.)
