I am so trashed. Woke up - without the aid of an alarm clock, woo! - and went straight to work. Worked five and a half hours. We're the only place open in town and the sun is out so BBQ-ers are rushing around trying to get food. People were queued up around the store. Worked with this kid M. until around one which is when L turned up - he's a great guy and much more fun to work with. (Of our staff, four of them are students. M's the newest, then there's R the Annoying Chatterbox, R. and L. Of all of them, I get along with L best. I'm just glad I wasn't there until 5pm because then I'd have had to put up with R.) Anyway, now my feet cane and I need to find food of some sort.
Also, some guy told me that I have "a nice accent" and that I speak in "a lovely manner" ...okay!

Watched NCIS last night, Call of Silence, an episode which is oddly internal and quiet, but pretty moving. Skipped New York (Sweet Sixteen, not one of the season's best) and watched half of Law and Order. Would have watched it all but Elisabeth Röhm is boring. So I tuned in for Ed and Lennie (Jerry Orbach, really, we miss you) and then decided to go to sleep. Except I watched half of Raines instead. SO FUNNY. But I was knackered, too, so I went to bed. I'm so softcore these days.

Am still freaking out about having to go back to Soton.

Spent most of yesterday watching YouTube clips of Mark Harmon (& other NCIS cast) being interviewed. These people are all so nice, Harmon especially who tends to spend the first five minutes of his interviews telling the audience how much he respects his interviewer. FOR THE WIN. What a great guy. Also: he has quizzical eyebrows, apparently (actually, he totally does). One of my favourite parts of that interview is when he said he turned to Pam Dawber (his wife - Mindy!) and asked her about the eyebrows: "And you know the first thing she said? 'You do'!" There's also a story about him and Dawber saving these kids lives, and how they go to Montana on vacation every year.
Normally I'm a bit reserved about finding out about actors' lives, but Harmon is SO NICE. I was all happy once I'd been through all those clips.

OK, food now, then Raines and Numb3rs. We missed Doctor Who last night because The Rents called us in to eat so we'll watch the BBC3 repeat tonight. Seriously, though, I wasn't lying: my feet cane something atrocious.

Date: 2007-04-08 03:29 pm (UTC)It's still pretty funny! Since it's random story time: I went out to take pictures today, and when I came home I whined to dad about how dreary and grey this neighbourhood is, and he quipped "Isn't that because you were using black and white film?" Oh, family. (Brother is here now, too!)
