I said next to nothing in the research skills group meeting. I'm just going to proof-read drafts and leave it to the editor. She keeps asking us how we want to do thing when she's supposed to take charge and make decisions. So, whatever. I have other stuff to do.

Killed my hand in the Children's Lit. lecture because I had a dodgy pen and the tutor was talking double speed. I also couldn't get my head around the names she was mentioning so my shorthand wasn't all that short.
The mature student on the front row always brings a dictaphone/tape recording device, which is awesome, but would make typing up notes horrendous for me. She's a brilliant sport, and she was telling me how she hasn't read Uncle Tom's Cabin - just skimmed it and watched parts of the film. She makes me laugh. A really nice person.

Seriously, doing the On Reading stuff now. I ditched the group meeting early because we'd finshed working and were just talking, so I had time to finish most of my reading. Just got to do a couple of chapters of Farewell, My Lovely and then that's done for today. Of course, I also need to do the extra reading for On Reading, but I'll do that tomorrow in prep. for Thursday's class. It's a wonder my eyes don't fall out of my skull, seriously.

Back to listening to Patty Griffin. Forced myself to listen to Flaming Red a couple of times but it's not as good as the others, and I ended up hitting repeat for Tony. So now I'm back to Living With Ghosts which I actually really like now that I've listened to it more than twice. One day I'll talk about the reason why her alms make so much sense but for now I'm going to leave it. Study beckons.
