I watched the three Stargate episodes that I had. Loved the Teal'C one. Watched the Vala one and - okay, seriously, is this because they'd already started producing episodes when they found out about the cancellation? I mean, why would you choose that to be your last stand alone episode? Surely it should have been a team-centric episode? Admittedly the final scene (Teal'C in the theatre) was appropriately hilarious but still. It's the LAST stand alone! It was too average for the last stand alone.
(Then again, the last stand alone X-files episode featured the Brady Bunch house, so. But I at least understood that one! Giving up what you love &c. &c.)
Then watched The Unit and loved it, as per always. It was cool to have an episode without any interaction from the wives, and like I said yesterday, I'm in the mood for this kind of show right now.

twincy, I don't know if you've ever seen an episode of NCIS ever, but CORIN NEMEC turned up in this one, and I was happy. So.
I LOVE Hollis Mann, I really do and I really care little for what the rest of fandom has to say on that subject. As it turns out, Thompson, the actress who plays her, was in one of the best episodes of CSI's 6th season - Killer, the one with William Sadler (Valenti from Roswell). She only had a tiny part, though. I still love her.
I think what I love the most about her character and her relationship with Gibbs is that it's a truly adult relationship. And Gibbs is gracious around her - that scene in the car at the very end when they're talking about "old time romance" is hilarious (when Gibbs gets his Southern on, I flip out a little which is weird and wrong on a few levels, but I'm past shame, apparently; also, the way the two of them laugh is just so damn awesome), but also shows that they're actually fairly comfortable with one another. (I love Mann saying that she'd tell Gibbs if she killed anyone because if it came true, could you fucking imagine? Hysterical.) I think the way the two of them handle the relationship shows that it has potential, unlike Gibbs' relationship with Jenny, which I think is done with now. There's a little too much time, and a little too much hierarchy in their way. And I like Mann, so sue me. She's got balls, she's damn capable, she's smart and she's not really so needy as you might think. She holds her own against Gibbs, and it was comfortable to watch. So. Let's see where they go with this.
Abby's storyline was so sweet, and yet another example of Gibbs really coming through for her. Her hugging Ziva was kindly, too, and shows how far their relationship has advanced since Kill Ari; that her story didn't get washed away was so nicely played, both with Abby and in the scene with the people whose aunt was killed. I think what touched me most, though, was McGee's fixated concern and the fact that he was the one person to not really talk to her about it. (Abby 86ing that shoe was funny in a sad way; loved that scene).
The case. Oh, the case. I wasn't expecting that woman to turn up again, so that was a neat link in. Also: CORIN NEMEC. On top of that, I don't always point this out, but the team is a really cohesive and coherent unit. They get a lot of work done these days without needing to be told, which is awesome. I don't think this is because they've got Ziva and not Kate (I miss Kate, but I don't always see how she would fit in now, which is such a shame), but because the team are really, really together now, Dinozzo is more mature and has had a chance to show his leadership skills, Ziva and McGee are not newbies and no-one is playing catch up. Everyone knows what to do and why, and everyone trusts each other now. Things get done quicker, too. It's a nice thing to see.
In conclusion: damn. March is re-run season, isn't it?

Lenny Henry was amazing, and so funny. Tonight is Omid Djalili which is going to be just as awesome. Last night was also the lunar eclipse. I love lunar eclipses, which is not something I often get around to mentioning. The mood was this gorgeous and eerie red colour. It was amazing.
People keep emailing me with Important Things but I'll get to them tomorrow because when I said I was taking this weekend off, I meant it. Unfortunately, I still have to do my assigned reading today. Haven't quite got there yet. So I'm going to read and then watch last week's Prison Break and then finally be caught up on fandom. Only to have new stuff tomorrow. Am looking forward to Battlestar, though.

It sort of sucks that the weekend is so nearly over. But it is and tomorrow I really have to get my hind into gear over the research skills assignment and the On Reading critical piece. Ugh, my group leader keeps sending us emails, which, whatever, but why are they all in bold, or upper case? Gah. Also, also, also: dissertation topic is freaking me out. But it's my weekend off, so I'm going to forget about it until tomorrow.

Date: 2007-03-04 04:26 pm (UTC)But aw, Corin Nemec! I love playing spot-the-actor, because seriously, everyone is in everything! I swear the entire supporting cast of BSG has been on SG-1 at one point or another.
(I STILL MISS JONAS. I so hope he cameos on the final episode of SG-1 à la Rob Lowe on The West Wing, but the chances of that are depressingly remote.)
(They should put him in Atlantis, seriously. That would be awesome for so many reasons.)

Date: 2007-03-04 11:14 pm (UTC)That Abby episode is from the end of S3. I went back and watched three of the episodes from the end of the season. I'm not sure I can watch the rest of S3 though. Maybe I can. Maybe I am now immune to the idiocy.
Aw! The Unit and Numb3rs. Aww.
I don't really read RPF but
(Tbh, I don't even know if the writers remember him. It would be so awesome though. Jonas on Atlantis would make my life. !!!)

Date: 2007-03-04 11:40 pm (UTC)NCIS is entertaining, and I like the team (Ziva! Hee. Trust me to gravitate towards the social cripple), but it's not something I could watch a lot of in a short time. I might start including it on my download schedule, though, because that's been barren lately.
I really don't read RPF, so, y'know. But I'm sure it's awesome.
ps. omg Prometheus Unbound omg omg. !

(Oh is it screwed up? bugger...Umm...you want me to upload it for you? cos mine works...or I could just give u a link I already have around LOL)

Date: 2007-03-05 11:44 am (UTC)Hah, I love the episode, too, but it's still...I get the meta info behind it, but it was a weird stand alone episode. My favourite episode of the last two seasons was the one with the numerology. It was hilarious.
(Actually, I just need to know what happens in the lat five minutes, lol. Lincoln's just driven off; Tweener is approaching the house with a wire, Mahone's listening to him; the others are in the house, they've found the money, they tried to lift the cart and it broke.)

Date: 2007-03-05 11:52 am (UTC)Then she finds random drugs on her table and is like "WTF?" before she's attacked. You see that??
Sucre holds them all hostage at gun point once they dug the money out and says he wants the money. Cue Michael's ":|" face.
Tweener leads them to the girls place so he can apologise to her and say he likes her, Mahone then takes him out into the bush and talks to him and then he shoots him dead, makes it look like he was trying to escape (puts a gun in his hand).
The End.

Date: 2007-03-05 11:55 am (UTC)This time last year, during March re-run hell, I basically watched the whole first two seasons in, like, a fortnight. (I used Easter for two seasons of Veronica Mars).
I love Ziva! I actually just love the show nowadays, though, so saying 'I love Ziva!' is pretty much a given. I have slight issues with Jenny Sheppard still, but the new army woman is love. /excitement.
I don't. In fact that is the only RPF that I have ever read - and it as so completely worth it. Mary Macdonell in charge of a mafia-like secret group of Canadian actors. I couldn't even get my head around how funny it was.
p.s. LMAO. Oh. Oh. Seriously.

Date: 2007-03-05 11:59 am (UTC)Sara got another crane, threw it away, found drugs on her table (as a set up to explain she OD'ed, I'm guessing) and then she's attacked because the higher ups who work with 'Lance' need to gt rid of her? [Damn. Wish I'd seen that bit!])
Sucre wants all the money. OK. (wtf?)
Tweener leads Mahone to the girl that he liked? The one from the road trip? AND THEN HE WAS SHOT WTF? Damn, Mahone has cahones.
Episode 8 airs in the UK tonight so I'll watch that, too :) Thanks babe, I owe you!

Date: 2007-03-05 12:14 pm (UTC)Yup it was one of 'Lance's' buddies who is in her place. It should be in the previously on as it cuts off when u see someone in her house...
Re: Sucre - you'll see.
Yup he goes to the girl he likes hehe. It's cute. But then Mahone drives him out to the middle of nowhere, talks to him for AGES, and shoots him.
