I don't do this to bore you. The minutiae of my life are recorded to remind me what I'm supposed to be doing when I'm actually looking at the Paris Fall runway collections.

Today's lecture has been cancelled, giving me essentially two to three hours of free time. So I'm eating breakfast, finally watching the second half of NCIS, and then I'm going to catch up on the reading overlap from last night. (I didn't get around to Uncle Tom's Cabin yesterday. So close!) Then read the other two - Native Son (still) and now Raymond Chandler's Farewell, My Lovely which is a detective novel written in that bizarre noir style. Then I have to write 400 words of the children's lit essay. I'm doing well on that so far. Yesterday I wrote about 600 words so I'm half done now. Huzzah! The only downside is that next week I have to start (and write) my On Reading assignment and that one is likely going to be a pain. I think I'll look up my reading today and start work on that, actually. I don't need to hit a panic block right now. Not when we're so close to the end of term.

Yesterday was fairly insane. I went to that research skills meeting with the work that I had. It wasn't that I didn't do research, it's just that I'd had to change scope because what I was looking for I couldn't find. Anyway, there was a slight frisson of tension not because of my work but because we were trying to organise what we were going to be writing - or what the writers were going to be writing - and our Editor is a little off the mark. I don't want to go into it. Anyway, one of the girls wasn't at the last lecture and neither was N so I came home after children's lit with two sets of notes to write up instead of one. I have half of the research skills one left to write and then I'll be done with that. It just meant that the things that I had planned to get done yesterday (see: reading) didn't all get done but with the lecturer cancelling on today's class (and hopefully tomorrow's), that doesn't matter so much.

Paris fashion week is so insane. I fucking love it.

Oh man, NCIS is killing me (this is last week's episode, still). They handled this one so maturely and everyone is so nice! I haven't had to cringe at all! How considerate of them. No, but seriously, it's a lovely episode. Tough, too. (The focus on the coffee is getting to be hilarious. Everyone is drinking stuff this week. I think that's supposed to be a Hint. I've pretty much worked out what's happened here.) Ecklie's presence almost made him a shoe-in, but I know it's not him. And...I had something else to say but it would just show my complete and utter LACK of shame with regards to certain cast members. Ahem. (It ha to do with interrogation techniques. If you even care.)

It's amusing to me that a year ago I was just getting into this show. And then I dropped it over the summer! Im insane, obviously. And I still haven't seen the second half of season 3.

edit: Seeing Gibbs march through MTAC like he owns it feels good. It's been a while, right?

edit 2: Huh. That ending was a surprise. The very last scene was lovely though. This season has kicked my ass.
