Gave myself an extra hour in bed because I didn't fall asleep until 2am. Have put the laundry on, and had a ruckus with the postie. Basically something needed signing (and anyway, even if it didn't, I'd still ave had to open the door) so I rushed to the door only to realise that the bottom lock was still done. So then I had to peg it back up the stairs to find my keys. The postie was really nice about it, though, and I was giggling because then I couldn't unlock the bottom lock.
Anyway. Today I really, really have to start that damn children's lit essay. I'm also going to take time to chill the fuck out and watch some stuff that I've been building up because I've been working all week. Only fair, right? Also: need to go shopping for food again because I only bought cereal yesterday. *headdesk*

Actualy, this reminds me of an encounter I had at Waitrose. I was in one queue and in the queue next to me was this ittle old lady with a trolley full of food. Loads and loads of food. The woman in front of me had a lot of stuff and my purchases were on the belt already so I offered to help the old lady move he stuff onto her conveyor which, okay, right? So I'm helping her and she's very grateful, and in the meantime, the woman who is serving me finishes with the other customer so I tell her just to ring my stuff through and I'll pay for it in a moment. Five minutes later, she's just ringing the last of my items through and I've just finished helping the old woman (they have people to pack bags just not to unpack trolleys, so I let her be after that) so I go to pay and what the fuck do I get from the counter assistant? Fucking attitude. I was not impressed. I never treat my customers like that when I'm working in the store. And I have more reason to be pissed, trust me - I'm manning a kiosk situation, a store full of people and I'm not sat down. Idiot woman. NOT IMPRESSED.

Unearthed my copy of The Devil Wears Prada which I haven't opened since the train journey between Newc. and home. Still funny, so I'm going to see if I can actually read it through this time. Also,
ivinnuna told me about a book which I then promptly bought. Should arrive on Monday, yay.
Have also decided that it's high time I actually finished reading The Journals of Sylvia Plath. I always start and then get to the second journal and stop for whatever reason. Then I forget her frame of reference and have to start from the beginning again. So I'm going to start from the beginning again and read it through this time. No, seriously.

Am supposed to be considering my dissertation topic because the last assessed piece for Research Skills is a dissertation proposal. It really sort of SUCKS that the topics I'd like to cover in a dissertation are ones that my universty does not give a shit about. The closest they come to what I'm interested in is Modernism/Virginia Woolf but Woolf has been done to death (and anyway, I don't want to be one of those girls who does Woolf at university. Because I don't really care what she did for feminism. So fucking sue me. OK, not strictly true but that's all very been there, done that, isn't it?)
I need to go search through jstor. And the MLA bibliography.

Hee, I nearly forgot. New icon from the advert that killed me (no, really. I bounced and squealed lots. !) Made for me by
yaiyeishka. Only about 10% of my flist is going to understand the quasi-irony there.
