(Secret: I sort of like doing a time-stamped day at the beginning of most of my entries? I have no idea why.)

--

Was woken at 7.30am with The Mother telling me I could take a bucket-wash because she's been boiling water or something; I was all "SLEEP. NOW." and rolled over to doze for another hour before getting ready. I did wash, by the way. Spent the morning packing stuff and making sure that all things to be dealt with on the home front were, well, dealt with. (Was up until 1am last night, wrapping ducks. If The Sister is good, they should get posted tomorrow. I kind of hate that I only had 11 ducks to mails around and thus had to be choosy; it means a lot of you didn't get one. I spread them around according to locale more than anything.) Anyway, got that sorted, printed stuff off for The Dad and then accompanied him to the building society to run some errands. Went back home, said bye to The Mother; The Dad and I left D. at 11am.

Got to London at 12.30pm which was good time considering. Spent about half an hour at my gran's and then The Dad dropped me off at East Ham station. District line only took half an hour to get to Embankment, which was cool (normally takes fucking 45 mins, wtf) so I was at Waterloo queuing to buy a ticket at 1.45pm. Caught the 2.05pm train to Poole, made it into Soton at 3.30pm and couldn't be fucked to wait for a bus at the station so walked up the hill (OW) to the stop outside Asda. The bus driver was all, I don't have change for a £2 coin so he told me to get on and sort it out later. When I finally got to Pw., I went to pay and he still didn't have change so he let me go! Without paying! Nice guy.

Stopped at Waitrose to buy finger bread rolls (for the veggie fingers in the freezer) and was in the house by 4pm. Called The Mother to let her know I hadn't died. Skyped my cousin but he said The Dad had already left London, so whatever. Since then have unpacked, checked mail and am now waiting for people to get back. It's just me and K in the house; N is in Holland for a couple of days because of something to do with the British and Dutch Royal families. I'm not sure.

Dear Ludovico Einaudi,
I love your music, I really do, and I get that Echoes is less an album and more a story, but why so samey?! Seriously.
Am loving Una Mattina so far. Yay you!
love,
M x

Thanks to everyone who indulged my whining. I had a lot of thinking time on the train today (plus time enough to read all of Alice in Wonderland) and figured, you know, I like being zen, and I only feel that way when I'm in control of my schedule and what have you. So the plan is to stay on top of my shit this semester. We'll see how quickly that falls apart (I haven't written a reading schedule yet) but I used to enjoy school, and I'd kind of like to get back to that place where academia wasn't this monster hiding under my bed, waiting to jump out and eat me.

We are totally going to see Chicago tonight. Am more excited about this now that I am back in Soton. Also, new Prison Break airing in the UK tonight, so I'll watch that now or tomorrow before my lecture. Also-also, as soon as The Flatmate gets in, I'll have my tees, yay! Photos later/when I remember/when I can be bothered.

N is in Holland for a couple of days because of something to do with the British and Dutch Royal families. I'm not sure.
What? Your queen is visiting (Royal OTP! - no, srsly, the caption was "Queens kiss" and I had this horrid flashback to the Madonna/Spears debacle), but that's hardly a reason to go back to Holland? *shrug*

It was something about the opening of something or something, and it gave her an excuse to see her family or something. And something.

Hi.

I think tone that airs in the UK tonight is 2x04. It's still good. I think I'll always prefer it when it was set in the prison, but it's like Numb3rs, I guess Season 2 is a different show but I still like it.

Yeah, I know that, but Echoes is a sequence of tracks. You only have to listen to it to know it - it's not just minimalist, it's self-referential.
