UM, IS IT ME OR IS THIS SHOW ACTUALLY GOOD NOW? I do believe there was an implied phallic joke in there. Crack!fic = Ronon and Zelenka ON A CAMPING TRIP.

ALSO. I LOVE ZELENKA. "Pigeons?"

ALSO! "Sam's a boy's name, too!"

Geeky things include: ELIZABETH RECOGNISING SPEECH RHYTHMS & TRANSLATING ANCIENTS. !!!

Lizzie/Teyla! Teyla/Ronon! Sheppard/Lizzie! (He lifted her - it was so cuuuute!")

"We're not toast!"

"NO - THANK YOU."

To end on my usual shallow note: I love Lizzie's hair SO MUCH.

DEFINITELY NOT YOU. IT IS NOW SCIFI YOU CAN BRING HOME TO MOME BECAUSE WOW, AWESOME.

ZELENKA IN CIVVIES. Actually Zelenka was scrumptious ALTOGETHER. I just want to squish him.

And OH MAN RODNEY? And *caring* so much about the wales AND PASSING OUT.

AND YES LIZHAIR = WIN. Also shirt.

(AND THE SHEP/RODNEY even though yes you hate it)

Also Shep's face kept making me go all gooey which is not something it usually does? But the way he looks when Rodney first shows him the whale? DED IS ME.

I want to watch this again. And again. And again. Oh, show.

YES YES YES! NO WORDS. CAPS SUFFICE.

I LIKED RONON THIS WEEK. !!!!

(I love the alien!whales and their protectiveness ALMOST as much as I love Rodney being all grateful-like of them and protective and eeeeeeeeeee. !)

(THAT'S FUNNY BECAUSE SHEP CARRYING LIZ MADE ME THINK. "Hm. Meish will like this!" BUT THE SHEP/MCKAY WAS REALLY OBVIOUS BECAUSE THEY WERE TOGETHER ALL. THE. TIME. AND *LOOKING*.)

(His wistful little look at the end? Oh, Meredith.)

(That is a nice image. Re: hypershipping: I ... am guilty of that on many occasions, but I can see what you mean and would be entirely with you if that wouldn't make me a big hypocrite. I think it's inevitable, though? And while I don't think that canonically, Shep and McKay are gay and repressed and in love with each other (actually, I think McKay could be bi out of sheer convenience, or sheer disregard for social customs he finds tedious, or simply because I think everyone is at least a little bit bisexual) I do think there is something epic about their relationship, and I know that that relationship in all its forms is one of my favourite things about the show.

Fuck knows I've been writing mostly gen lately, though.)

+ randomly: wow Heightmeyer looked bad. And was annoying.

(I kinda freaking LOVE that you call him Meredith? THIS AMUSES ME.)

(I...yeh, okay, me too at time. But then every now and then I come across a pair that I really kind of like as friends? Then shipmania makes the baby Jesus me cry. (ITA on Rodney, btw.) Then again, this is one of those fandoms where actually? I ship everyone with everyone else. So it makes little difference.)

Ha. Yes. Gen. I...don't write this fandom, contrary to beliefs held by some people.

Hee! That's [livejournal.com profile] general_jinjur's (I almost typed 'colonel_jinjur' there) thing, actually. After M&MM aired we spent a lot of time talking about Rodney (actually, I think it was a lot of me saying "did you see the HUGGING?" over and over again) and Jeannie and RodneyandJeannie and how she would probably call him Mer even if she wasn't deliberately trying to piss him off.

(Oh, oh I know. I like to pretend I am happy to multiship in SGA fandom, but in practice, not so much. I have a thing for McKay het (with women who aren't Weir or Teyla), though. But I suspect I only really enjoy it if it ends in McKay/Sheppard.)

Except when you wrote me Liz/Teyla?

Dude, yes. Although wardrobe have been busy bees -- Tey had a new outfit, too! At the beginning. It was pretty. And the blue pyjamas! And ZELENKA'S CAMPING CIVVIES.

I'm torn between wanting to read so much fic for this episode and not wanting fandom to spoil my pretty pure love for it. I think I'm going for the latter.

She would totally call him Mer all the time - which is why it amused me. Because essentially you became Jeannie. !

(Ha! But I do not grudge you this because these things happen. Also, [livejournal.com profile] wliberation is a pretty hardcore OTP shipper in that she's much more likely to stick to her pairings than variations thereof. So I am used to this and find it possibly healthier than turning the entire fandom into a brothel.)

Yeah. But that was a request. And the apocafic was for [livejournal.com profile] icaw. I never get the yen to write Atlantis fic. Ever.

I &hearts the blue jammies. AND ZELENKA IN GENERAL. (I get mad when I find that one random person who hates Zelenka and want to excommunicate them from church fandom.)

See, I'm not a post-ep fan for the most part because Fandom may giveth but Fandom sure as hell Taketh Away.

Apart from left-handedness and a brother who's a bit of a moron but who we dearly love anyway, me and Jeannie don't actually have much in common. But Rodney - when he's being open and slightly... vulnerable? Emotionally? Makes me want to refer to him as Meredith. In the same way as John is John when he's talking to Teyla about his feelings, and Shep when he's shooting at things.

(Except that [livejournal.com profile] wliberation's SGA OTP is my squick? McKay/Carson? The topic of Carson is not one you and I will ever agree on, which is okay. But on the subject of OTPs: I have this big thing for character dynamics, and I can literally fall in love with the way two characters move around each other and in THAT, I'm rigid. This doesn't automatically translate to OTPs in the romantic sense, but it does mean I'll be 200% more inclined to read fic centred around those two characters and their relationship, which is highly likely to be slash. Though someone asked me to name my single most favourite McKay/Sheppard story, and all I could come up with was gen.

... I should not do self-analysing meta when I'm tired.)

(People don't like Zelenka? Impossible! He is tiny and scruffy and foreign!)

I don't trust the fandom to do something with this episode that won't cheapen it. My entire SGA fandom experience is filtered through [livejournal.com profile] polyfandomrecs nowadays, and I still end up skipping over half. I've given up believing I'll ever be more fandom-involved than I am now, and truthfully, it suits me fine.

Yeah, I totally understand the tonal difference behind each of the names.

(Heh, yeah, I know, re: McBeck and Carson himself. As for pairings, I'm flexible because when I look at a fic, I'm really just a language whore. If it's well written, I can get over the pairing. If it's poorly written, I'll skip it, even with my OTP. Atlantis is a rare example of a pairing where I hate seeing the friendship relationship portrayed as an emotional one. The only other pairing like that which I can currently think of is Aiden/Danny. I'm with you on the relationships, and the space between characters, but I'm more likely to want to preserve the relationship as is than head into fandom with it. I guess that's because if canon has done with it what I want it to do, fanon becomes surplus to requirements.

It's 1am here. I'm so going to sleep now. My brain hurts.)

(I KNOW, RIGHT? I always have *stabby-stabby* emotions towards that rare breed.)

Oh, me too. I think I'm possibly less invested in it than some people because I'll see things in fandom and be all "walking away now" but not actually care. My fandom experience these days is so bizarrely two-fold. On the one hand, it's this - talking to flisters. On the other hand, it's an OCD-POV of the technical bits - writing, acting, cinematography, direction. And if those two things come together? I can ignore all the BS.
