The Mother is so unintentionally hilarious. She just Skyped me and was all excited about having done it all by herself. Then, just as I was opening LJ, she had to call me again to ask how to shut down the computer. *headdesk*

My Parents = technophobes, obviously, because they're the only ones in my Dad's family who aren't competent with computers. That said, it's pretty funny when they try. Made my day, that did.

I guess to us it really is because we think that way (we pretty much live our lives via menus; hit start to begin etc. etc.) but my mum was having a really hard time with things. She gets flustered just trying to open a document, seriously. And she doesn't associate the names with the files, either. It doesn't occur to her that a document can be electronic and that it can go into an electronic folder, just like paper can be put into a binder. She's too worried about getting the mouse to move in the right direction.

I can still remember having to explain to my father how to use email. Technophobe parents are amusing although my Mother is not a technophobe at all being a librarian type who uses computers a lot.
