So, that last scene? Means that I have to completely re-evaluate the last two episodes. That's so fucking awesome. And it also means I have to re-evaluate Warner, and my reaction to that character because now I can't think of her as the character who induces Don to adultery, just as the one he moved onto. Yay for the mindfuck!

And like nearly everyone else, I'm waiting for the sweeps kick to be Don imploding. I can't wait. Mostly because the whole pattern of behaviour ties into my theory that Don makes bad decisions when he can't keep a grip on reality, when he can displace himself from his immediate surroundings. I've always thought that the events from Cooper to Margaret's death were a show of Don riding one hell of an emotional rollercoaster, trying to figure out where he stands. Then the show opens, you have a character who has made some serious self-adjustments and seems fairly in control of himself. And then - well, then he gets bored. He gets bored, or the cases stop being something new. He loses Terry, he gains Megan and Colby, he's got Alan on his back about settling down and procreating, he's got his own loneliness issues that have been lingering since he left Kim in Albuquerque. Then Terry, then the girl who committed suicide, Naomi, Robin. All these person issues stacking up against the frustration of the cases, the need to stay level headed, getting more involved in his work. I love the way things are spiralling out of control, and I think the idea of Don losing his grip is fantastic for one overriding reason: wait for the damn comeback. You know I'm there.

So, anyway, re-watching that one. Also: I am so in love with Colby right now. I mean, at the beginning of the season I couldn't get enough of Megan. Then there was an episode when I wanted the writers to give David so much more to do. And now it's all Granger. I don't get it! I am flipping out.

eta: Firstly, Don meeting Colby and Megan for the first time in the episode, the way he put his hand on her head; later her concern for him. Very touching. Secondly, when Don walks away from Liz Warner, he smacks Colby on the back, and Colby returns the gesture. I actually swooned.
