So, the wireless is kicking my ass. We got it to work yesterday! And then it stopped working. I'm really quite annoyed because there's no reason for it to be playing up. This inevitably means that I've got something wrong somewhere and I haven't quite figured it out. Note to self: call someone already. (It's not like it's a problem for me, I'm close enough to the router to be jacked in via ethernet, but there are two people downstairs who can't access the modem. Sure, N can come upstairs with her laptop but K has a desktop. We really need to get this shit sorted out.)

Our freezer is dead, so we're talking to The Landlord about getting it replaced. I need to figure out where the laundromat is. MY MOBILE IS DYING ON ME WOE. (That last one isn't an issue so much because I call people all the time omg, but more because I need it to be able to contact people such as [livejournal.com profile] xanitia, and also to call The Rents when I'm travelling.) Anyway, I'm thinking that I might have to fork out for a new phone, dammit.

I gave in my job application to the temp bank at the university student services today so I should get a placement soon. The Flatmate and I braved the downpour (the rain has seriously been a menace today) and then spent 50 minutes queing up at student services so that she could get her tuition fees discount refunded to her. That's really too complicated to explain in any further detail. One of the housemates, A, is a worrier. In fact, I may call her that here. The Worrier's fixational point of the day was the council tax that arrived through the post today because we're supposed to be exempt from that shit. So now she's harrowing people over exemption letters. The Flatmate and I have sorted ours out but N, the Dutch Housemate, is in Holland this week and we can't collect her letter for her. The Worrier is worrying.

There are six of us in the house, including me. R is the girl I was with last year, thus she is The Flatmate. There is N, The Dutch Flatmate (who will have an easier nickname soon enough), and also T, The American Flatmate (I'll probably call her Germy or Ammy. We haven't decided yet). Lastly there's A, The Worrier, and quiet K who is a complete sweetheart of a girl, very kindly. It's a nice group to live with, really. I'm fairly certain that The Worrier is going to upset N very soon, though. BUT. We'll see.

I'm glad that The Flatmate has moved in; I feel much more comfortable now she's back. We've compared timetables, talked about our respective summers and made plans to see Children of Men and Buddy (at the theatre, yayz!) We have also compared reading lists. She's taking a unit in drama which looks brilliant. Two of the plays she's studying are Death of a Salesman (!) and Angels in America (!!!) We're going to see if we can get the Angels in America DVD and watch it in the house.

Other shit: I vacuumed and I'm about to go and wash my hair again because it's still greasy and gross. I need to do today's reading, toast some rolls, and then I'm going to sit down and watch Numb3rs, CSI and Supernatural. There's Spooks on tonight, too, but I've seen the one on terrestrial. The Flatmate might watch it, though, so I might join her.

Oh, one last thing: [livejournal.com profile] wliberation and [livejournal.com profile] the_muppet, I'm going to send your packages out either tomorrow or Wednesday. Poke me if I don't make a post saying that I've done that already.

Now: to wash mine hair and all that jazz.

A package for me? Wow. Thanks :) I am still looking for a decent card for you, but apparently all tasteful cards in my area have sold out/been destroyed/no longer exist. But I won't be beaten ;)

Ooh, you haven't seen N3 yet? Don't read my LJ till you have then :)

*hugs*

Oh, don't go to trouble. The card you gave me for my birthday is pinned proudly to the wall; it's so lovely.

No, not seen it yet. Had some, uh, issues. I'll let you know as soon as I've seen it, though.

First off: I got your card on Friday, and whee! Buttons! indeed. My Mum used to have a tin with buttons in when I was a kid; a lot of them where just ordinary buttons, but there were some really fancy ones as well and it was always a treat to be allowed to play with them. I really like the card and have it standing on my kitchen table. Makes me smile every time I go in the kitchen! Thank you very much. Btw, is that your university or home address on the back of the envelope?

I am sorry to hear about your woes with electrical equipment -- I hope the problems get sorted soon and satisfactorily. *hugs and shares (virtual) chocolate* Glad you are enjoying the house, and your housemates, otherwise and I hope you will find your classes interesting, stimulating and fun!

Hurrah for the card arriving! I'm glad you liked it. If the address wasn't Soton, it was my home address.

And the wireless is now functioning, hurrah!
