First off: [livejournal.com profile] tigertrapped and [livejournal.com profile] rivers_bend, long overdue packages are being sent off today. Apologies for the delay.

Secondly: my proof-reading/copy-editing course turned up today! I'm still uncertain as to the timetable of it but I think it's "at your own pace" so to speak so I'm going to spend today writing up an approximate timetable and listening to the bible online. On that last score, yeah, I know - cop out. I have no excuse really.

Anyway, my mood should improve now that I have something constructive to do. I figure I can do some work on the course every day and listen to a lecture, too, and hopefully we'll gather up some momentum. I'm quite looking forward to it. But yes, I must make a timetable otherwise I'll have nothing to follow.

Friday is music day: tell me one song you're in love with right now. Just the band and the song name will suffice. Or maybe there's a piece of film score that I have got to hear. Let me know.

In other news, my cousin is leaving today. He's been here since Wednesday night. He comes over about once a week these days which is so cool. I love it when he stays because it shakes up the house routine a little and he's pretty awesome. Today he's got work in P and then he's off back to London. Sigh.

eta: But to make things better, [livejournal.com profile] hires_hotties has a post full of Michelle Yeoh pictures! *fangirls*

Horray for packages :D

Martha Wainwright is making me happy right now. Bloody Motherfucking asshole in particular, and Bring Back my Heart from the special edition album.

The course sounds interesting! I've been thinking of doing something similar myself. What are you doing it through, Open University or something else?

It's a correspondence course through Chapterhouse Publishing. Google it and you should find it; there's also an ad in the Daily Mail (apparently).

It looks really good and will be useful on a personal level at the very least.

Oh wow, that does look interesting! Like I said, I've been thinking about a course like this for a while, and it would complement my skills as a librarian too! Thanks for the link.

Yeah, me too. I was trying to get a job this summer (as my entire flist knows, lol) and that fell through so I figured, why not do this now? Flicking through the manuals they've sent me, it looks really good. I'm starting properly on Monday because that's the kind of person I am, hee.

I only work part-time because of my uni course, so since May I've had two days off a week. I wish I'd thought of this earlier - it'll be a lot harder to get through it once uni starts up again in October.

Well, because it's an each-to-their-own-speed deal, you have up to three years to finish the course which is ridiculous. I sent off for my pack on Tuesday night and I got it this morning. I'm still trying to work out how much I can do a day and how much will be left to do when I head back to Soton in October (where I also need to get a job. Pattern? Yes).

Anyway. I recommend looking into it now, especially as prices rise at the end of August.

No problem :) (and any song from the 81>85 collection is worth a listen, really)

And an extra one, because I sent it to [livejournal.com profile] elfinessy, White Linen Vox by Tiga. Miami Vice slash song, oh yes. Let me know if you want it and I'll email it (I am getting as many people as possible to listen to it).
