The thing I hate about the World Cup isn't the ongoing footie madness in England - it's the assumption that if you don't give a shit about England winning or not, you're not a patriot. Oh fuck off. And it looks like they made it through by the skin of their teeth, as ever.

I'm more interested in Ghana and Australia's upcoming matches.

*waves* Hi- just thought I'd mention I friended you :).

And I completely agree- I couldn't care less about the WC, and I wish everyone would stop beating me around the head with it already- but that's hardly proof of my not being a patriot. (The fact that I'm planning on emigrating as soon as humanly possible is.)

Hiya :) Thanks for the heads up! *friends back*

Heh. I don't mind all the WC stuff because I'm in a position to ignore it but still. Yes. Sigh.

My brother would wholeheartedly agree you. The only reason he knows England win or lose is because he can hear me yelling at the other end of the house!

I'm only interested in David Beckham on his knees taking his shirt off...

I admit to being a fairly big soccer fan (although in Australia it's not the national obssession that it is in other places. That's reserved for Aussie Rules/Rugby/Cricket) but I don't push it down peoples throats cause that's just annoying.

I am however fairly shallow when it comes to certain aspects of soccer. I mean Tim Cahill and Harry Kewell are rather droolworthy in the Australian team and David Beckham isn't bad either...

Cahill...*drools*

And I think it's become a temporary national obsession if nothing else :P Not that I'm in Australia at the moment...but...*looks at MSN list*...I'd say its a bit of an obsession :P

No, see, ha! OK. I don't really care that it's every where. I just don't like being coerced into giving a damn.

Hey, youre ok - im stuck in Costa Rica with a footy fan!

On the other hand, when Costa Rica started the world cup we did get two hours off work and drank cacique (local rum) and coke!

Also, we did manage to get a three hour lunch hour one day when england were playing, so I have kinda turned into a temporary fan!

Miss you ...
