delga: ([spn] no mortal or immortal.)

I can't believe that of all the things that I've watched recently, this is the one that I want to talk about a little. Not in terms of mythology because it's not exactly linear, but just in terms of how gorgeous this episode was. I haven't watched a full episode of this show since 5x04 (I think?) and I've been skimming the past few for the dramatic bits because the humour bent on this show was just not made for me. But I think the arc episodes are generally fairly well handled, and this one had a visual kick to it.

I do still intend to talk about Spooks eventually. You know. Once my hysteria-reflex dies down.

Broke
by Bonnie Young

An unusual joy churns
inside, unspoken.
Within a tornado, pressure
is low. Calmly I notice light
striking our old oak table,
the burnished wood. A newspaper
lies open. No need to read
the ads. No shopping to plan.
No recipes to follow. No
ingredients. A house explodes
from inside. Outside a siren.
Three children, laboring husband.
Early summer. Wild
strawberries, apricots
begin to color. Neighbors
offer their trees. We pick.

Fringe continues to be very good! Do I sound surprised? I sort of am. I started watching this towards the end of the first season and fell absolutely in love with it. I thought for certain it would turn to shit this year, but whilst there are things that I miss from the first season, it is still altogether excellent! WHAT IS THIS?

Anyway: superb quasi-mytharc episode this week. Excellence abounds! P.S. am I the only person interested in Astrid/Peter? BECAUSE MY GOODNESS *WANTS*

she crossed my mind, somehow; she never left. )
