{ things to think about }
Sep. 4th, 2005 11:29 amI haven't really said anyhting about this yet because really, what is there to be said? These people need help and they're clearly not getting it. New Orleans doesn't look like part of the USA - it looks like a Third World country. This (link found through someone on lj-land; sorry, I can't remember who) shows how devastating the situation is, 6 days on. The reporter is crying at the sight of the babies left in the filth. It's just awful.
Also, Chief Justice Rehnquist has died. Not only can I not believe that Bush gets to put a second man on the Court, I'm also very worried about the potential consequences of such a placement. There is a fear - a potent one at that - that decisions made in the USA will very likely affect those made in this country.
Lastly, an article that seems (is) shallow in comparison but at the very least shows a step in the right direction (unless, of course, you're violently opposed to pageants as I know some people are).
