So I just watched bits of Fingersmith (I'll watch it in full tomorrow) but I'm glad to say that I'm pleasantly surprised by the story. I guessed the first bit (the backwards con) but the ending had me reeling. I kept thinking perhaps Maud was Mrs. Sucksby's daughter. Apparently not.

This should be fairly interesting, don't you think?

ETA: Oh, when I updatd earlier, I'd only seen the first five minutes of CI - seen the rest of it now. Brilliant; a really gripping plotline (I loved that woman's neuroticism, the way that she'd been played by her father and the fact that her mother had been the only one who had loved her afterall). I especially loved Goren's reaction at the end when she killed her father; his self-frustration was magnificent, as ever. The best reaction was Eames', though. I loved how she was almost furious at Goren when she talks to him - "If anyone deserved it...". Brilliant.

Anyways, as a result, lots of bunnies bounding across the fields of my mind...or something. One from that line (and Goren's - "I know that anger") and one from Stella's line in NY - "That reminds me of the Mac Taylor I used to know...the one who'd let his heart out of his chest once in a while." Gah. LOVE.

I also have a Tja fic swimming around upstairs but I think revision may hunt these down with a rifle and school-shaped dogs.
