I was about to comment on someone's Merlin icon just because it was a Merlin icon, except when I read their journal they turned out to be stupid/anti-Gwen, and I fucking lost my shit internally. It's a good thing that I am less of bitch than I used to be otherwise I would have stirred some serious shit, to the detriment of my flist. But fuck that. Sometimes being pro-everyone-in-fandoms-I-like(-for-the-most-part) is hard! And I am anti-bashing anyway because I am a fey, slight creature. Or just soft in the head, you pick.

This song is called Awkward Annie in which the singer is in love with Annie. In the first verse the singer gives Annie a chicken, and, well... IT DOES NOT GO WELL FOR THE CHICKEN:

I gave to you a hen
you gave it back again
without its eggs, my Annie
I gave to you a hen,
you really didn't care,
now it has no legs, my Annie

And this is why no-one can ever truly hate modern traditional folk. The rest of the animals fare much better, though, so don't worry. The best part of the song is the bouncing chorus but the lyrics are. Well. See above.

Leaving for work in ten minutes. I should have washed my hair last night and now I am paying the price for my incessant laziness, goddamn.

I highly approve of everything about that song. I'm just going to go ahead and take your music recs as well as tv and poetry, thanks.

I really don't understand how much time and passion some people invest in hating characters...I mean yes there are characters I dislike/find annoying but I never felt the need to write pages about how much I hate them...

Also: these lyrtics are awesome

It is pretty rad as songs go (http://www.box.net/shared/fd2ci4eyxf). I am massively onto modern trad folk right now. It's just so... I don't know. I like violins/fiddles, and I love that irish drum, and I love the rhythm idk. There is a track by Ruth Notman called The Squire of Tamworth that I love purely because of the way two verses merge together. And also Cruel Sister which is the sweetest song and lovely tragical. <3

I'm all, isn't that exhausting? Because I find it exhausting just being annoyed at people who bash.

THEY ARE. Great song!

Yeah...I generally try to ignore them but occasionally I stumble over journals where people post long entries about how much they despise character X...I'm always tempted to write 'Don't you have anything else to do?'...
